Both introduced to the sport of adventure racing as racers themselves, Mike Jones and Pam McKay enjoy the tremendous amount of work and fun that accompany their roles as co-directors of HRAdventure. Most think them insane for the amount of dedication, time and efforts that Mike and Pam spend pounding away behind the scenes to foster the sport of adventure racing while both working bona fide jobs.

Mike and Pam get a kick out of introducing new people to the sport of adventure racing, pushing the more seasoned racers out of their comfort zones, encouraging healthy lifestyles, promoting environmental awareness, and supporting local communities by bringing quality events to their area.

Team HRAdventure has evolved over the years as teammates have moved away, broken bones, gotten hitched, etc. Grant Killian was the original architect of Hampton Roads Adventure starting in 2004. Check out the beginnings here. Mike and Pam have been leading the charge ever since Grant handed over the reigns at the end of 2006.

Cheers to those who have raced under the HRA banner.
We look forward to our next adventure!

Our races involve many volunteers who have dedicated their time and efforts well beyond the call of duty to help make our races a safe success. Without their assistance we would not be able to pull off any race.  We would like to extend a HUGE thanks to ALL of our volunteers!  We value you tremendously!
