In 2004 a group of friends, led by Grant Killian, began HRAdventure with the mission to bring quality, affordable adventure races to Hampton Roads. Today, we are still driven by the same mission. When we think of Team HRAdventure, we consider everyone who contributes to our events as part of the team. What begins in our creative minds as an adventure race requires hundreds of hours of planning, coordinating, organizing, design and course work in order to come to fruition. We could not pull it off alone. It would be difficult to man a 100 mile race course without our loyal volunteers and who would race it if it weren’t for the adventuresome racers?

Since 2004 we have directed over 20 adventure races, led annual adventure racing clinics, and participated in numerous eco-projects. One constant challenge in Hampton Roads is finding new terrain. Over the years we have worked diligently to build positive relationships and gain the confidence of many communities, local and state parks, recreational areas, and private landowners. We thank them for their incredible support and confidence in our abilities. And, our sponsors are a vital part of the team as well. Several businesses have lent us a hand in one way or another over the years to keep the adventure alive.

HRAdventure has never been a business; it is a community of adventurers who work together to champion the sport of Adventure Racing. We encourage healthy lifestyles and support local communities by bringing quality events to their areas. We feel that no matter what challenges and goals you are facing in life, it’s the adventures of today that build a stronger tomorrow!
