Race Description

HRAdventure is excited to introduce its challenging, thrilling, and brand new adventure race with the 2009 Back Bay Blitz!  This inaugural BBB course is completely new utilizing some great new terrain. The 2009 BBB promises an adventure with 70+ miles of challenging yet obtainable backcountry navigation, unspoiled waters for paddling, biking in some of the wildest lands along the Eastern Coast, and a few other twists.  It’s taken awhile to get this information out there, but trust us…it’ll be well worth it!

Location

Holding true to HRA tradition the exact location of the BBB will be kept secret, however, we can tell you that it will be on the south side of Hampton Roads. Team Captains will be notified of the exact race start location one week prior to the race in the final Captains Communication.

Date and Time

Saturday September 12 to Sunday September 13th. Race Start at 5:30 pm on Saturday evening. Further details will be revealed in the Captain’s Communication.

Race Fee

Early registration is $110.00 per racer. Early registration ends August 23rd. After August 23rd registration will increase to $130.00 per racer and t-shirts are NOT likely to come your way! Registration closes August 30th.

Team Compositions

2, 3, or 4 person teams in the male, female, or coed categories. We feel true adventure racing consists of teamwork, however, due to popular demand we are allowing solos to compete in the Back Bay Blitz. Experienced adventure racers only will have the option to race solo. If interested in racing solo, prior approval is required. Please email Pam and Mike for solo approval AND registration. info@hradventure.com

Support Crews

Due to the expansive area covered, the 2009 Back Bay Blitz will require a support crew. Semi-Support is available to teams on a first come, first serve basis. For cost and specific details for this semi-support offer please contact Paul with Liquid Lessons (757) 617-1106 or email Liquidlessons1@aol.com
