Some race info for 2010
January 1, 2010 by Chris
I’ve posted a some info on a few races other organizations around the area are putting on this year under the Adventure Huddle section of this site.
The first one is the Soggy Bottom Boys Rogaine and Land Nav Challenge put on by Mark Montague. This race should be a great way to dust off your map skills and prepare for all that 2010 has to give.
The second one is the IsoSeries Yuki Joy. I raced this event the past two years and have it on my schedule this year too. Hope to see you there.
If you would like your race/diet/get together posted under the Adventure Huddle, shoot me an email to chris@hradventure.com.
I do not have dates for HRA races yet this year, but I’m working it.

The 2010 version of the IsoSeries Yuki Joy Race was announced a few weeks ago. This will be the third installment of this race. It will start near Danbury, North Carolina on May 29th.
I raced in the first two races and plan to put this race on my race list this year too. They are stepping up a bit this year to 15 hours (the last two years were 12 hour). Don’t miss this one. Visit their website for more information: Isotopes Racing

The return of Clip, Splash & 5-0
December 16, 2009 by Chris
I have a few days of cold weather training planned this weekend. Kara (formerly from Team Clip & Clipless) and Stacey (together they are Team Briar Patch Kids) and I are heading up to Douthat State Park for a weekend full of trekking, mountain biking and paddling in the cold. We are registered as Team Clip, Splash & 5-0 for the NGAR in January and are trying to get as much last minute team/cold weather training in as possible. Last I checked the high for the weekend will be 37 degrees (24 for the low) with snow on Saturday. Fun!
I hope my new Axis Gear Attack Winter pants arrive soon. I want to test them out this weekend.
I’ve never raced in 20 degree weather before. Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me? Is there any special gear that any of you think I should have?
I’m also considering going out to the Diet on January 2nd in the Shenandoahs, but can’t find much information on it. Does anyone know anything about it?
If anyone will be in the Douthat area this weekend send me an email. You could join us on a ride or trek.
Chris
