OC cleanup

August 1, 2010 by Chris

It took Mark Ross (Factory Refurbished) and I about 3 hours 20 minutes to clear the flags off the course today (including the 15 minutes we spent at CP 39 looking for shells). We cheated and used mountain bikes, and I didn’t cross between way-points 5 & 6 into the mud. It still rained on us the whole time though if that helps. I’ll work on the scoring tonight and tomorrow. I think results will be up by tomorrow night sometime.

So, I’m thinking about doing it again at another park in mid November (maybe the 20th). Who is interested?

Hey Chris, thanks mucho for putting on a great event (lots of variety), very well planned and lots of fun! I would have helped you clear controls on Sunday but feel I did my part to help you out already by taking as many tiny ticks and chiggers home with me (errr….on me) as possible so you wouldn’t have to! heh-heh! OH the AGonY! Benadryl is my Friend zzzzzzz

    Chris,

Well done this weekend! Lots of skill levels for entry level racers and good challenges for more experienced racers. I took a mixed team of new and experienced and everybody had a great time. You gave people a great experience!

I got 0 ticks clearing the course on Sunday. All of you racers must have cleared the ticks out of the woods for me. Thanks! In a few places (especially the lower places) there were new *trails* blazed through the woods where everyone went.

Thanks for coming out to race!

Thanks again Chris… Sorry we got started so late, and kept you there the full time. At least we cleaned up the hotdogs for you. November 20th sounds great for the two of us. – Double Trouble -

Thanks for making my first orienteering event such a memorable one! It was definately challenging and fun at the same time. I hope to make it out to more and more HRAdventure events since this was one such a blast! If you have another one if November I will definately be in attendance! Quick question though, is there an overall listing of how everyone did? If so, where can I find it?

    Chris,

Thanks for a very fun race and a great day running around in the woods. I would love to do another race like this, but will not be available November 20th.

    Thanks again.

I’m working on compiling the full results right now. I should be done later tonight and I’ll post everything on the Orienteering Challenge page.
